103 Kendaraan Lakukan Uji Emisi Penataan Hukum di Jalan Pangeran Antasari

Emissions Testing Conducted on 103 Vehicles on Jalan Pangeran Antasari

A total of 103 vehicles underwent emissions testing during a joint operation by the South Jakarta Environment (LH) Sub-agency and the police on Jalan Pangeran Antasari in Cilandak Barat Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district.

A total of 79 vehicles passed the emissions test, while 24 failed

South Jakarta LH Sub-agency Pollution and Environmental Damage Control Section Head Tuty Ernawati said the operation was part of efforts to ensure that vehicles operating in Jakarta comply with emissions standards.

"Some vehicles had already undergone emissions testing, so we allowed them to continue without being tested again," she said on Thursday (7/23).

According to Tuty, the operation was the third emissions enforcement campaign conducted this year, with 103 vehicles tested.

"A total of 79 vehicles passed the emissions test, while 24 failed," she noted.

Of the 24 vehicles that failed the emissions test, two were gasoline-powered cars, one was a diesel-powered car, and 21 were motorcycles.

"We issued warning letters to owners of vehicles that failed the test, instructing them to have their vehicles serviced or repaired as soon as possible," she added.

According to Tuty, vehicles typically fail emissions tests because of excessive levels of carbon monoxide (CO) or hydrocarbons (HC). During the inspection, officers measured eight parameters: temperature, engine speed, carbon monoxide, corrected carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons, oxygen, and lambda.

"We hope these emissions tests will help improve Jakarta's air quality while encouraging residents to take better care of their vehicles," she said.

Meanwhile, motorcyclist Asep Hidayat said he was surprised to encounter the emissions testing operation.

"I thought it was a traffic enforcement operation, but it turned out to be an emissions test. Thankfully, my motorcycle passed because I have it serviced regularly, including oil changes and routine maintenance," he explained.
